Back In July? Psh...

If you don't know already, The Nearby Future will be back in July, which is only a few days, but still. Rika's post, however, is obviously not completely accurate because once again she used that annoying tone of writing that made it seem like we all share her thoughts.

I do not have writer's block and have a hard time watching as she singlehandedly wrecks our search engine rankings! Alright, I'm a little melodramatic, but as you can see I am a little more than annoyed.

I've been saving my creative juices for things like the logo which is pretty much the green flower and TNF written inside. I made it with Gimp, which is a photo editing software and it's awesome.

Pretty cool, huh?

Alright I'm done writing for now.

I'll be back in July.

Human Rights Day

So today is 'Bloggers Unite For Human Rights' day hosted by the wonder blog catalog. Anyways, us bloggers are supposed to spread awareness about the issues of the world.

Well, I'm not going to talk about the cyclone, or the Olympics, or any of those Human Rights issues that are going to be talked about by every single blogger that cares today.

If you care and want to help suffering people, google it or go read Rika's thought here.

If you don't, then google it anyways so that maybe you will change your mind and be reasonable.

Save the Blogs

You browse the internet, the echoes of many blogs tumbling past.....
"SAVE THE TREES!" ...... "save the world click here!"....... "OMG FREE OIL!! TAKE OUR SURVEY!!!"

You got it, the web has become a world for people to attempt to win over viewers because their site is 'necessary for absolute survival!'. Really, people, save your blog, not the world. It needs some desperate work to move away from the marketing empire that you've been trying to build up.

If you don't visit The Wells Mission or thenearbyfuture.com, you won't implode, you won't die of starvation, you will probably still have a car that works, but you probably wouldn't have laughed that day. You probably haven't learned what you could've by visiting, but it's not the end of the world.

Save the blogs, save the world from the useless advertising. We don't need more ads, people!

The Truth Behind The Nearby Future

So The Nearby Future isn't all black-and-white. We're not some kind of reality show. Just because I aspire for dictator of the world does NOT mean that:

I secretly plan Rika's demise every time she rejects one of my articles
I am so lowly and uncreative that I chose to blow up the world every time my take over plan fails
I am using this website for the purpose of recruiting people to back me up during world domination.

So that's the truth. I honestly own no tanks and have no nuclear missiles in my backyard, for all those people who accuse me of having unoriginal plans. No, instead I have state-of-the art satellite- I mean, I have none of the above.

A lot of the comments we receive on The Nearby Future are from people who live under a rock. One really cracked me up: "Is everyone on the staff?"

*Laughs hysterically* of COURSE not everyone is on the staff! We talk about 'the staff' as if it's a fan club. (Which it isn't, it's about as interesting as owning a pet rock) if EVERYONE was in the staff, then what would happen? We wouldn't call it "the staff" we'd call it "The people of the world"!

May the Force Be With You

So yesterday I felt like watching TV- which, is usually not one of my favorite things to do- and I saw this interview with George Lucas, and he talked about the phenomenon that made him famous (what else is there for him to talk about?).

It was interesting how his intentions with Star Wars was to give the world a view on religion different, comparing all of the religions. He said once that we were all seeing a "different part of the elephant" and that all religions were true.

There's more to writers than even their writing portrays!

What good do celebrities do? Pfft, nothing. They strut around the red carpets and are bad influences. Sure there are some good looking people, but I could care less. For once I agree with Rika.

Who wants to watch a bunch of perfect Barbie Dolls run around and get drunk? That's not entertainment, that's craziness.

Marketers Adapt to New Challenges

You walk past the blaring TV- but the commercials stop you. You listen for no particular reason, and then you move on to go back to doing what you were going to be doing. Why did you stop? What was so intriguing about that commercial?

Simple: it's brainwashing. The catchy slogans, odd characters or costumes, and familiar jingles are all there to pique our interest and get us to stop and watch the commercial.

Tayla, of course, said this was definitely not the case. "Commercials are just doing their job! Catching people's attention. And now with Tivo and DVR we can just fast forward through commercials, so no one watches commercials anymore."

But no one has perfect reaction time, and often times people catch a commercial before their show begins.

These marketing people are clever...

Twilight readers and Jala

What is up with all the Twilight readers out there? Jala from The Nearby Future staff has read the series about 14 times, and that's a couple thousand pages. How can readers do that? I'm at loss of words for Jala's incredible capacity for reading so much in one day and comprehending it all. Also; Jala is very intelligent, more so than Rika (sorry Rika, but you said this yourself) especially in the science area.
Now don't get me wrong: Rika's writing is incredible, and so is Jala's. Rika writes and manages the site, and the rest of the staff argues against her. Jala gets all the fame and attention, Rika jokes around as she pretends to rig the staff contest in her favor.

It's definitely fun writing in The Nearby Future. And you know what? You can take place in it too. You can contribute to thenearbyfuture.com by simply logging on, checking out the site, emailing rika at the nearbyfuture dot com, and asking Rika about contributing to the site.

Will I be competing against YOU for the next staff contest? Only time will tell :D

Well SOMEONE's fed up with Windows...

Honestly, I'm sick of wars. The HD vs Blu Ray was hard enough with Rika cheering on HD like she cheers on McCain in the elections (Rika, I do not care about the McCain train!) and it's been Apple vs Microsoft for forever. Apple is only O.K. in both Rika and my opinions, and we both like Microsoft (something we agree on- *gasp*).

But there are those who like to take their frustration out on Microsoft and basically computers and general.

I'm okay with that- these images are hilarious! (probably the only good thing coming out of the computer war)

[Start transmission] Your mission if you chose to accept it is to help Calister F. Wells take over the world as we know it today, making it a better place.

Objectives:

Objective 1: If you don't know who I am already (which is pretty crazy) then go to www.thenearbyfuture.com and search "Calister" to see my articles and points of views. (And may I add, are all correct whereas Rika's are sad attempts at winning debates)
Objective 2: Once you have accepted that my ideas are all correct, you need to prove them wrong. Strange, right? Exactly! By debating against my ideas, you'll help me improve my side of the argument. We'll see Rika try and debate with you all you guys behind me!

So I'm Calister F. Wells and this is my blog, codenamed "The Wells Mission". Rika, who is the big cheese of thenearbyfuture.com, wants to save the environment. She basically doesn't care about the hard-working men and women of our government if there are trees in trouble.

Me on the other hand, I care about saving humankind. Politicians are people with ideas and the government is just a monster chewing those ideas and turning them into ones that completely negate the purpose of . Simple as that. It's not the politicians that are to blame! It's the whole government system.

"The Wells Mission" is here for people like me to talk and to get people like you to leave comments in the conveniently placed comment boxes.
